You can use the NONOMO® Swinging Hammock as long as your child feels comfortable in it. We have developed our cradle in two different sizes, so that the NONOMO® can be used from birth. As soon as your child is bigger, you can use our toddler crib. This can also be used as your child continues to develop, for example as a retreat while reading or listening to a audio play. The toddler NONOMO® can be used with a weight of up to 30kg.
The mattress for the NONOMO® Swinging Hammock is available with different fillings. The choice of filling material has no influence on the lying comfort or functionality. There is therefore no "good" or "bad" with the individual fillings. The differences lie in the cleaning options of the respective mattresses.
You can clean mattresses made of synthetic fiber and kapok in the machine at 30°C without any problems and then let them air dry.
Kapok, by the way, is a vegan natural fiber that also goes by the name of "plant down". Wonderfully soft and fluffy, it offers your child, just like our other filling materials, a great and comfortable lying feeling.
Thanks to the self-cleaning properties of sheep's wool, it can be easily shaken out for cleaning. The sheep's wool, on the other hand, must not be cleaned in the machine, because otherwise the wool in the mattress will form lumps.
The difference between the baby and toddler cradle is in the lying surface for your child. The hammock and the matching mattress are larger in the toddler version of our NONOMO® than in the baby version. With regard to our complete sets, another difference is the spring, which is included in the respective scope of delivery. With the baby NONOMO® you get our small spring for a load of 0-15kg, with the toddler set the larger spring is included. This is designed for a load of 15-30kg.

The NONOMO® Swinging Hammock offers your child an ergonomic rounding of the back. This is comparable to the position in the womb, in which your child has completed its development over the last few months. Since your child is in the supine position in our cradle, this curvature is completely harmless.
The difference lies in optical details: Our logo is printed on the fabric of our NONOMO® Baby Basic. On the NONOMO® Baby Classic, however, the logo is embroidered on the head end. Furthermore, the wooden bars differ. For the NONOMO® Baby Basic, the wooden bar is simply clamped into the cloth tracks of the cradle. For the NONOMO® Baby Classic we deliver the wooden rod made of PEFC-certified oak wood with 2 bands. You can then tie these decoratively around the cloth panels of your NONOMO®. In addition, the Baby Classic comes with a travel bag in which you can store the NONOMO®.
It is important for you to know that this has no influence on the safety or functionality of the NONOMO®.
We recommend using the toddler version of our NONOMO® from a body height of at least 80 cm. Below this height, it is not yet advisable to use the large cradle bag. Because then the ergonomic rounding of your baby's back is no longer given and he would literally "sink" in the cradle, which is still too big for him, and has neither a positive nor comfortable lying position for his development.
You should use the baby NONOMO® for your newborn at the beginning. In the toddler NONOMO®, the ergonomic curvature of your baby's back is not given. Your baby will literally "sink" into the cradle, which is still too large for him, and will have neither a positive nor comfortable lying position for his development.
We recommend using the toddler version of our NONOMO® from a height of at least 80 cm. However, this does not mean that you have to change from the baby version as soon as you reach this height. You as mom or dad will notice soon enough when your child has become too tall for the swinging hammock and no longer feels comfortable in it.
If only one of your twins wants to lie in the NONOMO®, this is no problem at all. If you feel that the hammock is a little tilted, you can readjust the whole thing using the wooden bar.
The weight specification refers to the spring, which is approved for a load of up to 15 kg.
Thus, you can use the twin cradle from birth for your two little ones. As soon as your twins together have reached the weight of 15 kg, you can order the corresponding stronger spring for up to 30 kg from our shop and use it for the further use of the NONOMO® Twin Classic.

Our NONOMO® can be pushed by you, so that the spring is set into vibration. Otherwise, the spring also reacts to your child's own motions and generates further gentle movements. As soon as your child falls asleep and lies still, the swinging of the NONOMO® hammock slowly subsides.

The gentle swaying of the NONOMO® Swinging Hammock can be compared to the movements in the womb. Depending on the weight of your child, the spring creates the perfect, gentle vibration, which has a calming and relaxing effect.
The NONOMO® is designed to work without a belt. The top, the snap fasteners, and especially the high sidewalls, which wrap around your child, prevent it from falling out of the cradle. Thus, your child is protected all around.
That depends entirely on the personal development of your child. It is therefore not possible to give a general answer to this question.
Many babies have developed the motor skills to sit up or turn around in the NONOMO® at around 9 months of age. If your baby can already walk, this is not a problem, you can then hang the NONOMO® close to the floor using the extension chain and open the buttons so that the child can climb out by itself.
If your baby sits up but cannot yet stand and walk by himself, be careful! In this case, we advise you to perhaps take a NONOMO® break until your child can stand and walk freely. In addition, we recommend the NONOMO® especially for sleep. When a child is awake, it can always find a way to get out of the cradle to join its mother. Therefore, the cradle should always be used under supervision.

Fastening systems .
Our NONOMO® Door Frame Clamp is to be used with the Baby Hammock only, please. The maximum load of the door frame clamp is 15 kg. In addition, it is important that there is sufficient distance between the hammock and the door frame for safety reasons. Therefore, our twin cradle is not suitable for use with the door frame clamp.
Sheep wool has a self-cleaning function and is also antibacterial. If the mattress gets dirty, you can simply let it dry and knock it out properly. If you wash the sheep wool mattress, lumps will form inside the mattress, making it unusable.
You already have a NONOMO® in the baby version and your child is now getting too big? Then you don't have to buy a completely new toddler set! With our extension sets you get all the necessary components to convert your NONOMO® in no time and adapt it to the development of your child.
In most cases, you can already replace all fabric components before the stronger spring is needed. You can choose whether you want to have only the fabric components for the extension for the time being, or whether you want to buy the stronger spring directly, which you can use from a weight of 15 kg. In addition, you can choose between a mattress made of synthetic fiber and a mattress made of sheep's wool.
